Knowsley Foodbank, run by The Big Help Project, has unfortunately closed due to the charity’s collapse. This closure affects all Food Clubs in the borough, as the Big Help Project was responsible for overseeing them and providing the food supply.
Alternatives to Knowsley Foodbank:
Park Pantry Community Food Club: Located at Eaton Street Park Pavillion, it’s open every Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 1:45 PM. It is a social supermarket where people can purchase around £12-£15 worth of food for £3.50, and it is open to anyone who wants to prevent waste and save money. The pantry is run by the Friends of Eaton Street Park, and they also offer a free tea in the park every Sunday (except in winter).
Prescot Community Church: hosts a community food club, also referred to as a social supermarket, which is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. It operates from the church located on Old Colliery Road, Whiston, Prescot, L35 3SX. The club offers 10 items for £3.50 and supports residents in the Prescot and Whiston areas. In addition to the food club, Prescot Parish Church also operates a foodbank at the Salvation Army on Warrington Road, open every Wednesday from 12 noon to 2 pmThis is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Friends of Eaton Street Park Community Food Club: This is another option for affordable food in the area.
